Job Title: Repair Technician
Job DescriptionThe Repair Technician performs skilled technical work focused on the diagnosis, replacement, repair, and rebuilding of oxygen tanks and systems for aircraft. This role uses specialized diagnostic equipment and hand tools, applies electrical and electronic theory, and follows detailed technical documentation to ensure safe, compliant, and high-quality repairs in an FAA-regulated repair station.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, replace, and rebuild oxygen tanks and systems for aircraft in accordance with applicable technical and regulatory requirements.
- Use diagnostic equipment and a variety of trade-specific hand tools to identify faults and perform precise mechanical and component repairs.
- Interpret and follow technical manuals, blueprints, mechanical drawings, and schematics to carry out accurate and efficient repairs.
- Apply principles and practices of electrical and electronics theory to troubleshoot and resolve issues in oxygen system components.
- Follow industry and government guidelines related to safety, health, and environmental practices, ensuring all work complies with regulatory standards.
- Assist with research and development of new repair capabilities, including reviewing and understanding new manuals and technical documentation.
- Participate in on-site and off-site training as needed to support new repair processes and maintain up-to-date technical knowledge.
- Assist with the maintenance, organization, and care of shop equipment, tools, and supplies to ensure a safe and efficient work area.
- Make accurate computer entries and complete maintenance documentation such as Service Reports and FAA Form 8130-3 in accordance with FAA regulations and company policies.
- Work on a variety of oxygen system components, including cylinders, regulators, high-pressure tanks, and oxygen masks, following established procedures and quality standards.
Essential Skills- Proven mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand and work on complex mechanical assemblies.
- Hands-on experience using hand tools in a repair, assembly, or production environment.
- Demonstrated ability to perform component repair and troubleshooting on technical equipment.
- Ability to read, interpret, and follow technical manuals, blueprints, mechanical drawings, and schematics.
- Working knowledge of basic electrical and electronics theory as it applies to equipment repair.
- Capability to follow detailed industry and government safety, health, and environmental guidelines.
- Competence in using computers for data entry and completing maintenance documentation in compliance with FAA regulations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Experience working in an FAA repair station or similarly regulated environment.
- Familiarity with oxygen systems, cylinders, regulators, high-pressure tanks, and oxygen masks.
- Comfort with learning new repair capabilities through manuals, training, and hands-on practice.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate and compliant documentation.
- Ability to collaborate with others in a shop environment and assist with equipment and supply maintenance.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Los Angeles, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
