Northrop Grumman’s Mission Systems Sector is seeking a Manager Mission Assurance Manager 2 to join our team in Linthicum, MD.  This position will support the AMC Restricted Operating Unit within the Advanced Mission Capabilities Business Unit. This position is 100 onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work.

This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.

What you’ll get to do:

  • Manage a group of high performing Quality/Mission Assurance engineers establishing objectives, providing direction, and ensuring strategic alignment to support the AMC-R Operating Unit goals and objectives.

  • Act as an advisor to staff members to meet schedules and resolve technical or operational problems.

  • Provide leadership and oversight to critical program reviews including technical reviews, test readiness reviews, certifications and sell offs.

  • Team and collaborate closely with internal & external customers and stakeholders, including, but not limited to, Mission Assurance Director, MA team members, Supplier Mission Assurance, Operating Units (OUs), Systems Engineering,  DCMA and customer counterparts to enable program mission success.

  • Support FRBs and MRBs ensuring identification of root cause and proper implementation of corrective actions including reach back and reach across.

  • Assure adherence to, Customer/Program requirements, Company policies and procedures, and government regulations.

  • Provide oversight for root cause analysis and preventive/corrective action implementation.

  • Lead and participate in the continuous improvement of processes, procedures, work instructions, tools, metrics, and training materials.

  • Refine best practices and expand program cross sharing to elevate program performance and growth.

  • Perform analysis and trending of metrics.

  • Provide leadership and technical expertise to support Supplier Mission Assurance activities in collaboration with Supplier Management Teams.

  • Develop staffing strategies to support program needs while managing direct budgets.

  • Conduct employee/team talent development,  performance management and career development.

The ideal candidate must have the ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and with internal and external customers. The candidate must be able to coach, develop, mentor others, and drive change through creating, sustaining, and improving standards and procedures.

Basic Qualifications for the Manager Mission Assurance 2: 

  • Bachelor’s of Science Degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience in Manufacturing and Quality Assurance processes; Masters degree with a minimum of 6 years of relevant professional experience.

  • Active U.S. Secret Security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP).

  • Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience (Integrated Product Teams leadership or direct-line management).

  • Quality Engineering, Quality Assurance, and component Quality experience.

  • U.S. Citizenship Required.

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Active Top Secret Security Clearance.

  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer.

  • Project Management Professional Certification.

  • CSSC Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.

  • Demonstrated Lean Manufacturing experience

  • Certified Cost Account Manager.

MPR

Primary Level Salary Range: $139,800.00 - $209,800.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current spanet conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
