Facilities Maintenance Helpers are responsible for performing cleaning, preventative maintenance, and general repairs for facilities, grounds, buildings, and equipment. This role includes tasks such as fluid replacement, filter changes, lubrication, and equipment-specific inspections and cleaning. Additional duties involve building and grounds maintenance, including mowing, trimming, snow and ice removal, light bulb replacement, and basic plumbing, carpentry, and painting services. Technicians may also assist outside contractors with facility work.

Responsibilities

• Read work orders and specifications to determine tasks and priorities.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and perform basic repairs of minor building electrical problems.
• Perform minor repair and maintenance of building exteriors, grounds, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• Monitor fluid levels and perform fluid changes, including coolant, for machinery.
• Conduct facility cleaning, including sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing restrooms and breakrooms.
• Operate mowers, trimmers, and snow removal equipment as necessary.
• Safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment.
• Transport parts, tools, equipment, and materials needed for maintenance work.
• Inventory and requisition parts and supplies as necessary.
• Use various tools and solutions to clean and repair facilities.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
• Participate in safety committee activities and adhere to all safety policies.
• Communicate effectively and follow verbal and written instructions.

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum of two years experience in a similar maintenance role.
• Valid drivers license with a safe driving record.
• Mechanical aptitude and basic knowledge of facility maintenance.
• Experience using hand tools and electrical testing equipment.

• Forklift experience preferred; certification required upon hire.
• Small motor repair and hydraulic/pneumatic system repair experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and maintenance work order systems.
• Self-management skills, including efficiency and adaptability.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Work Environment

This position operates in a manufacturing warehouse environment with varying conditions. Employees work Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with overtime as required. Physical demands include standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and using various tools. The environment may include moderate to excessive noise, dust, smoke, fumes, and extreme temperatures. Personal protective equipment is required.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tulsa, OK.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00/hr.
